Linda & Joan Prologue: "Four Months Earlier"

Linda & Joan” is an emotional game that revolves around a British family and their struggles. In this narrative game, you get to play as three different characters; Russell, Linda, and Joan. Your mission is to switch between these characters and help them deal with a series of traumatic events they have faced in their lives. The game is based on a true story, adding a level of authenticity to the gameplay. Prologue: “Four Months Earlier” sets the scene for the story. The section begins with Linda visiting Russell in Los Angeles, where he now resides. The two are hiking up a trail together. You play as both Russell and Linda, leading the way while the other follows. However, Linda has difficulties moving as quickly as Russell due to her use of a stick. You must stay within earshot and guide them to the top of the hill. Along the way, the two catch up and reminisce about Linda’s visit and the past, while trying to find the right time to talk about the heavy topic that is weighing on their minds. Additionally, the choices you make in the game have an impact on the outcome, leading to multiple endings. One of the endings involves Joan, who is at home in Hereford, UK. The game's difficulty level can be adjusted between Normal Mode, where you walk Russell and Linda follows and Challenging Mode, where both Russell and Linda follow your lead. It is a free and standalone experience that takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Russell Quinn, an artist, designer, and programmer with experience and acclaim from "The Silent History" and "The Pickle Index," has created the story, art, and development of “Linda & Joan”.
