Experience a one-of-a-kind word/RPG hybrid game that pits you against a malevolent force! Take on hordes of adversaries in turn-based combat by mastering words, spells, weapons, and items. The world is vast and invites exploration. Numerous characters await you with their stories to tell and quests to embark upon, which will lead you on a journey of discovery. Use the gold that you earn from your battles and trade quests to upgrade your weaponry and purchase new items. As you gain experience, you can unlock level-ups and enhance your fighting prowess in combat. In Shadow Codex, your combat performance is determined by how well you spell words on a shared board of letters used in turn-based combat. Choose letter combinations and align them with adjacent letters to form a valid word. Each word you spell will accrue a score, which will be added to your "action points." If you attain a certain score as defined by the weapon you have equipped, you will gain a weapon attack to utilize in a future turn. Longer words and letters that are rarer earn more points, potentially granting you extra turns or multiple attacks! Keep an eye out for gems, which will double your score! As you perfect your word-spelling ability, you also have the option of casting potent spells. These spells can alter letters on the game board, heal you, harm your enemy, and can be obtained by vanquishing your adversaries and completing quests. COMBAT EXPERIENCE • Vanquish over 45 unique characters and monsters, each with their distinct abilities! • Grow your gold reserves by acquiring new weapons with unique statistics and skills. • Gain valuable XP to enhance your stats and magical abilities. • Enhance your word-spelling capability by casting helpful spells. • Use various healing items to sustain yourself and come out on top! MINI-GAMES • Three supplementary mini-games provide you with opportunities for gaining gold and experience! • Test your ability against time by participating in the Endurance Trial Game. • Find out what's inside locked chests by playing a Word-search type game. You never know what you might discover! • Quickly collect or harvest items to earn rewards, support your fellow citizens, and gain bonuses!
